## Duties and Responsibilities

  
- Contribute to one of the core functions of the Property/Casualty industry (e.g., Claims, Underwriting, Audit, IT, Marketing, HR).
  
- Depending on the department, support business needs and gain an understanding of the industry and the business.

## Program Objectives

  
- Receive hands-on training from seasoned managers and mentors to learn the nuances of key functions and departments within a leading commercial insurance company.
  
- Develop professionally in a corporate workplace, including programming designed to strengthen presentation, networking, communication, and other non-technical skills.
  
- Participate in an intensive 10-week training program with other interns to understand different full-time career opportunities at Starr.
  
- Present a final capstone project capturing key takeaways and reflecting knowledge and skills learned throughout the summer.

## Skills and Experience Required

  
- Risk Management or Insurance major preferred, but not mandatory.
  
- Relevant coursework preferred, but not mandatory.
