We foster a high-performance, inclusive culture and invest in our people through our CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility, and Excellence. **Location:** New York, NY and Newport Beach, CA ## Eligibility Requirements You’re eligible to apply if you are: - Pursuing an undergraduate degree. - Able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028. - Enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027). - Minimum 3.3 cumulative collegiate grade point average (on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university. - Business proficient in English. ## Role Overview U.S. Global Wealth Management (U.S. GWM) creates industry-leading experiences for financial intermediaries and their individual investor clients while contributing to PIMCO’s overall business results. U.S. GWM is responsible for business strategy and client coverage of the financial intermediated individual investor segment, including RIAs, wirehouses, family offices, banks/brokerage firms, trust banks, platforms, and sub-advisory relationships. Within U.S. GWM, the Strategic Accounts team’s core responsibility is building and expanding PIMCO’s largest intermediary clients (e.g., national and regional broker-dealers, banks, and platforms). Strategic Accounts team members act as strategic partners by providing highly customized investment solutions and services to meet the unique needs of key clients. Success is measured not only by sales and asset growth, but also by the strength and depth of client relationships, client satisfaction, and strategic alignment of PIMCO’s solutions with client goals. This function requires partnership and collaboration across the firm, including Product Strategy, Portfolio Management, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, and Operations. ## Responsibilities Responsibilities for this internship include: - Conducting research on market trends, competitor offerings, economic indicators, and investment products to support the broader team’s ability to differentiate PIMCO’s solutions for clients. - Using data analytics tools to analyze client portfolios, investment performance, and market data to service existing clients and support internal strategic decision-making. - Assisting in the development and execution of client business plans in collaboration with GWM stakeholders, including sales and product strategy teams. ## What You’ll Excel At You’ll excel as a U.S. GWM Account Analyst if you: - Adopt a team-based approach, communicate effectively, collaborate on key projects, and deliver individual work within expected timelines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. - Have a growth mindset—problem-solve, stay curious about the role, and think creatively about how to contribute to the broader business. - Demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and investments through relevant coursework, certifications, internship/work experience, and/or participation in professional organizations and campus clubs. - Understand that, due to the technical nature of this role, all full-time members of Strategic Accounts must pass FINRA series exams; some members further their credentials through an MBA and/or participation in the chartered financial analyst program through the CFA Institute. - Articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing. - Demonstrate the ability to conduct research and analyze complex data to identify trends and draw meaningful insights (some proficiency in financial modeling is a plus). - Possess a solid foundation in finance and economics, along with familiarity with financial statements and basic investment concepts. - Develop client relationships into strategic partnerships and have an interest in a client-facing finance career. - Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint. - Show curiosity and experience using new emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes. **Note:** While eligibility requirements are not flexible, you are encouraged to apply even if you do not possess 100% of the desired skills outlined above. ## The PIMCO Internship Experience - The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program. - During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing the foundation of skills, knowledge, and relationships needed for the rest of the internship. - Alongside your colleagues, participate in PIMCO’s Global Month of Volunteering. - Join cross-divisional education, networking, and social events. - Your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders, and team provide guidance and mentorship throughout the summer. - You will gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, with training and resources to build future-ready skills and make an impact from the start. - You’ll receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process to keep you on track to meet your summer goals. - You’ll receive competitive compensation, along with a transition bonus to help with relocation to one of our office locations. ## Interview Process - After PIMCO receives your application, an initial review of your resume will be conducted. - If you are selected to move forward, you will take a cognitive assessment and complete a one-way video interview via HireVue to showcase your interests, skills, and personality. - After you complete the assessment and one-way video interview, you will participate in a final round of live interviews via video conference, typically including both behavioral and technical questions. _Applications for the internship program are reviewed in phases. Base salary is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors.
