The programme is designed to provide opportunities and professional development to help you build a rewarding career. ## Programme Overview As a Summer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within the Corporate Banking function and receive career-building mentorship. You will be placed within a key area of the Corporate Banking division to develop insight into the responsibilities of a full-time Analyst. Successful applicants will gain exposure to multiple areas aligned with the interests of driven and focused students, and benefit from a team-oriented environment that supports development and increasing responsibility. ## Key Responsibilities - Develop a deep credit, structuring, and execution skillset across various industry verticals, spanning a wide range of transaction types, including investment grade corporates, small/mid-market leveraged situations, and private equity funds - Play an integral part in a growing and dynamic team with strong deal flow, a collegial and collaborative work environment, and a flat structure with an open door policy - Gain direct involvement and exposure to marquee M&A, LBO, acquisition, and related transactions - Build relationships with industry and product partners and learn about RBC’s full product suite - Work toward a clear career path with increasing responsibility and opportunities to work directly with MDs ## Learning Through Projects During the programme, Summer Interns may complete projects including: - Participate in the due diligence process for new financing transactions by analysing company filings, financial statements, diligence reports, and equity/credit research; attend management presentations and diligence calls - Assist with the preparation of internal credit presentations and related credit submission documentation, including producing detailed written credit analyses and working with integrated financial models to assess creditworthiness of new and existing clients - Analyse companies’ business models, financial projections, deal structures, industry dynamics, and investment merits in collaboration with peers from Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, Risk Management, and other internal product partners - Support senior team members in ad-hoc and recurring initiatives such as portfolio management, administration and reporting, pipeline management, annual budgeting, and other special projects as needed - Support financing to institutional-backed private equity funds of global asset managers, covering corporate buyout, real estate, infrastructure, credit, secondaries, and fund of fund strategies - Liaise with back and middle office functions to set up transactions on various internal systems ## Training & Development - Classroom-based training covering commercial and industry knowledge - Speaker Series with regular information sessions delivered by sector and product leadership - On-the-job training - Buddy programme - Networking and shadowing opportunities - Social events with the wider 2027 Capital Markets cohort You will receive mid- and end-of-summer reviews, as well as constructive feedback from your manager throughout your placement. ## What We Look For - Diverse candidates with outstanding academic records - Proven analytical skills and a demonstrated interest in finance - Experience participating in extracurricular activities - Strong oral and written communication skills - Proven leadership capabilities and initiative - Ability to play a key role as a team member in a fast-paced and challenging work environment - Fluency in a second European language is not required, but would be an advantage ## Applying to this role This 2027 Summer Analyst - Corporate Banking role at RBC runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
