Over the course of the programme, you will work alongside experienced consultants and specialists on real projects, develop valuable skills through tailored learning opportunities, and build connections across the business. ## What’s in it for you? The work combines energy markets and infrastructure expertise with commercial and transaction advisory capabilities, ranging from market fundamentals analysis, power price forecasting and asset optimisation to commercial strategy, M&A transactions, financing processes and investment due diligence. The team supports clients to deploy capital, manage risk and unlock value in rapidly evolving markets. Successful candidates will combine analytical rigour and curiosity with a strong commercial mindset and an interest in understanding how energy markets, investment decisions and business strategy intersect. _Desired degrees: Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Business/Management, Data Science, Statistics or Operational Research._ _Desired skills: Commercial acumen and strategic thinking; quantitative analysis; modelling and data interpretation; structured problem-solving and critical thinking; energy market and energy systems knowledge; financial analysis and investment appraisal; strong communication; stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; ability to synthesise complex information into clear recommendations._ ### Economics, Policy, Regulation, and Commercial Baringa supports clients from policy development to implementation, from regulatory strategies to business case submissions, and from competition cases to expert opinion. Economists, policy specialists, regulatory experts and techno-economic modellers work with governments, regulators, investors and corporates to shape frameworks and decisions that underpin multi-billion-pound investment across energy, utilities and wider infrastructure. _Desired degrees: Economics, Public Policy, Politics/PPE, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance._ _Desired skills: Economic and quantitative analysis, written communication, structured problem-solving, policy & regulatory awareness, interpersonal skills._ ### Transition, Assets & Infrastructure The Transition, Assets & Infrastructure team helps energy, utilities and infrastructure organisations deliver complex transformation across the full asset lifecycle—from capital programmes, asset management, operations and maintenance, to decommissioning. Baringa works with clients to develop asset strategy, improve performance of critical infrastructure, deliver large-scale capital investments, shape future operating models, and unlock value through technology, data and AI.
