This internship provides an opportunity to experience the Treasury function within the MUFG Global Markets Business, with a focus on Interest Rates Risk Management, Asset and Liability Management, Liquidity Management, and Funding Activities. You will gain exposure to money markets and how the bank executes and manages its banking book positions. You will also gain exposure to senior members of the Markets and Treasury business, and develop insights into balance sheet composition optimization, funding, liquidity, and cash product rate dynamics. ## Responsibilities - **Treasury Department overview:** Understand Treasury functions and provide supporting roles in business activities, including exposure to managing various stakeholders. - **P&L reporting:** Understand the treasury P&L mechanism, gather and report P&L from branches, analyze P&L contribution factors, and enhance the P&L reporting dashboard. Standardize P&L calculation methodology across the region. - **Interest Rate Risk control enhancement:** Understand interest rate risk control concepts, gather interest rate sensitivity data, and enhance Tableau dashboards with regional interest rate sensitivity data. Build market indicators and an investment dashboard to compare funding costs and yields across currencies to identify best opportunities. - **Data analytics and visualization:** Gather balance sheet management data from various systems and build automated data analytics and visualization processes using Tableau. - **Deposit analysis:** Support core deposit modelling by studying the APAC deposit portfolio and building a model for core deposit identification using less than 5 years of data. Analyze and monitor the deposit portfolio, and identify improvement areas on pricing and balance to optimize the deposit portfolio under a rate cut cycle. - **FTP standardization:** Summarize and clarify FTP methodologies, including base rate and LP for each branch, and provide support for FTP standardization. - **Benchmark analysis:** Gather competitor information related to the balance sheet, compare against competitors, and propose recommendations to optimize the balance sheet. - **Other tasks:** Support other miscellaneous tasks related to balance sheet optimization. ## Job Requirements - Undergraduates from Business/Finance/Economics are preferred; however, the role will consider any current university students. - A “can do” attitude and an outgoing personality. - Ability to learn on the job and pick up concepts quickly. - Entrepreneurial spirit and proactive mindset. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel. - Good with numbers, with programming skills and report writing skills. - Organizational skills. - Working hours for Treasury: 08:30 am – 06:00 pm. ## Important Note - Interested applicants must submit a CV and cover letter. - Please submit your details via the MUFG Early Careers website. - Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. - This internship role is based in Singapore and is open to Singaporean and PR students only.
