## Summer Internship Programme: Internal Audit

Spend 10 weeks diving into real projects, gaining hands-on experience, and shaping your future. You will receive full support, take on meaningful responsibilities, and build lasting connections—while discovering what makes Barclays’ culture unique.

### Why the Internal Audit Internship Programme?

Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) provides independent assurance and insightful challenge to help protect Barclays’ assets, reputation, and sustainability, and to support the management of current and emerging risks in a digital, technology-driven world.

BIA is an independent control function (the “third line of defence”) that provides objective, reliable, and insightful assurance to the Board and Executive Management. It works closely with the business to strengthen governance, risk management, and controls by regularly reviewing and assessing business areas, evaluating how effectively risks are managed and whether controls are operating as intended, and reporting findings to drive meaningful improvements.

Barclays Internal Audit is also a leader in Data Analytics and other specialist areas, using innovative approaches and technology to enhance the way assurance is provided.

## Eligibility

- Must be in your penultimate year of university.

- Must be graduating in 2028.

- Applicants are welcome from all academic backgrounds. A STEM degree can be a great fit for the analytical nature of Internal Audit, but it is not essential.

- Ideally, applicants are naturally analytical, eager to learn, and ready to take on new challenges, with the ability to manage time and build strong relationships in a team.

## Location

The location for this role is indicated in the job title, and you will be based at that location. If you receive a return offer to the graduate programme, your location will be the same as it was during your internship.

## Visa and Right to Work (UK)

- Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria.

- If you are not eligible to receive a skilled worker visa and Barclays is therefore unable to secure one for you, you must have your own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2027 to August 2027.

## Working in London

The London hub is in Canary Wharf, at the heart of London’s financial district.

## Equal Employment Opportunity

Barclays ensures equal employment opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or domestic/civil partnership status, disability, protected veteran status, genetic information, or any other basis protected by law.

## Application Information

The closing date for applications is 25 September 2026. The vacancy may close ahead of the advertised date due to application volumes, and early submission is recommended.
