For this internship, we are particularly interested in candidates with a strong technical background—engineering, physics, computer science, or a related discipline—who want to apply that depth to investing in information technology companies. You bring the technical understanding; we will teach you finance. As an Investment Analyst at Orbis, you will have the opportunity to develop your stock-picking skills, with a focus on the global information technology value chain—from chip designers and foundries to equipment, materials, and software—in an inclusive work environment. Career development opportunities will depend on your individual talent, progression, and interests. ## Responsibilities - Conduct in-depth bottom-up fundamental research to evaluate investment ideas. - Apply your technical background to develop differentiated insights across the information technology industry—judging not just whether a technology works, but who will capture the value it creates. - Articulate your views in reports and investment meetings (in both team-specific and firm-wide settings). - Participate in meetings with investor relations and management teams of companies under research. - Candidates who convert to permanent positions will maintain a notional paper portfolio of their best investment ideas. This will objectively measure stock-picking skill and serve as a valuable development tool. ## Qualifications & Experience - Excellent academic performance in a technical discipline such as engineering, physics, computer science, materials science, or mathematics.
