We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to contribute as new joiners in our Trade and Customs Group. The Trade and Customs Intern will contribute to a broad range of assignments, including conducting financial customs and tariff analyses, supporting international trade and customs projects, and performing global and country-specific industry research. The role also involves carrying out microeconomic analyses to help companies comply with customs and international trade regulations, optimize their supply chains, and reduce potential tariff exposure. ## Day-to-day Responsibilities - Experience in trade compliance, customs, and Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) - Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, including U.S. Customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade agreements. - Prepare and submit import/export documentation (e.g., entry summaries, commercial invoices, packing lists) to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance. - Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and assess duties, taxes, and trade program eligibility (e.g., USMCA, GSP). - Maintain and monitor records of import/export activity to ensure audit readiness and compliance with customs regulations. - Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve import/export issues and ensure smooth cross-border transactions. - Perform financial and statistical analysis for clients, including Fortune 500 companies, top ranked law firms, non-profits, and government organizations. - Conduct interviews with clients’ executive leadership teams to gather focused insight into their company’s global customs and international trade operations. - Undertake in-depth company, industry, and market research. - Write client reports, speak at seminars, and prepare industry articles. ## Essential Traits - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Management (with a concentration in Economics or Finance), or other degree (with a minimum of four junior and/or senior level courses in Economics or Finance) from an accredited university or college. - Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028. - Major GPA of 3.2. - Strong Microsoft Office skills. - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills. - Attention to detail; ability to manage time and workflow and work on multiple assignments. - Demonstrated ability to focus on quality work. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities. ## About Kroll Join the global leader in financial and risk advisory solutions—Kroll.
