Join our Corporate Banking team as a **Summer Analyst** and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC’s corporate and institutional clients around the world.

## What You’ll Be Doing

Corporate Banking structures and executes transactions across a range of product and industry groups, including CIT (Consumer Products, Industrials, Technology, Media & Telecommunications), Project Finance & Infrastructure, US Power & Utilities, Loan Syndications, Cash Management, Nonbank Financials / Fund Finance, and Leveraged Finance.

As a Summer Analyst, you will support the “Deal Team,” working alongside senior bankers. Your broad range of responsibilities includes:

  
- Financial statement and data analysis
  
- Financial modeling
  
- Credit analysis
  
- Industry research
  
- Assisting in the preparation of information memoranda and client pitch books
  
- Participating in the credit approval process
  
- Supporting documentation and closing of loan transactions
  
- Assisting with ongoing management of the loan portfolio

The Summer Analyst program offers the opportunity to work across multiple teams on a rotational basis throughout the summer.

## How You’ll Succeed

  
- **Communication and relationship management:** Provide sound, timely, well-communicated recommendations for credit facilities supported by thorough analysis and interpretation of relevant financial, industry, business, and market information.
  
- **Analytical:** Conduct in-depth company, industry, and portfolio analysis to support credit relationships for a large and growing portfolio of clients.
  
- **Financial modeling:** Run financial models mainly focused on credit analysis and risk rating evaluation.

## Who You Are

  
- You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline (including Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related) at the time of the internship, with an expected graduation date of **December 2027 – June 2028**.
  
- You have demonstrated interest in **Capital Markets** through school courses, clubs, and/or related work experience.
  
- You’re **digitally savvy** and proficient in the MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). You seek innovative solutions, embrace evolving technologies, and adapt to new tools and trends.
  
- You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You are confident communicating detailed information in an impactful way, with strong technical, computational, and analytical skills, as well as an understanding of credit analysis and accounting principles.
  
- You are organized and work gracefully under pressure—able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and make timely decisions.

## Important Information

## Compensation

At CIBC, the expected salary for this role is **$115,000** (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program) for the New York, NY market, based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
