## Finance Summer Internship (Campus)

## Responsibilities

PepsiCo Finance team members are key decision-makers who influence the direction of the company. Finance associates play four key roles to achieve our Winning with PepsiCo Positive vision:

  
- Enhance enterprise value as a **Trustee**
  
- Deliver sustainable performance and results as an **Integrator**
  
- Reshape the business as a **Catalyst** of change
  
- Set the long-term strategy and target agenda as a **Navigator**

Strategic Finance interns gain a foundation of functional and organizational skills needed to contribute to these conversations as they rotate through different teams. Because the internship program is a feeder of future Finance leadership, interns must learn to take risks and ask questions.

PepsiCo Finance includes the following functional areas across all divisions (unless otherwise noted):

### Brand and Marketing Finance

  
- Build annual and long-term strategic brand plans
  
- Prepare business cases for new innovation
  
- Manage marketing budgets across all brands
  
- Partner with Marketing and cross-functional teams to build plans, allocate resources, and performance manage against KPIs

### Financial Planning (FP&A)

  
- Manage sector and corporate financial performance through analytical insights and traditional financial tools
  
- Develop monthly forecasts, the annual operating plan, and the three-year strategic plan
  
- Partner with senior management to prepare presentations for the Executive Committee and Wall Street

### Sales / Commercial Finance

  
- Work with Customer Teams to drive sustainable revenue and profit growth
  
- Build the revenue plan, optimize promotional spending, and manage trade spend liabilities
  
- Proactively manage portfolio mix to drive margin improvement

### Revenue Management

  
- Set retail pricing and package architecture strategy
  
- Advise on customer portfolio strategy and optimize trade spend
  
- Assess consumer and category trends, the customer landscape, and the competitive environment to develop recommendations

### Supply Chain Finance

  
- Analyze production, labor, transportation, and selling costs to manage manufacturing and distribution strategies
  
- Assess historical and projected financial economics of producing and selling company products
  
- Evaluate productivity initiatives and perform capacity analyses to inform capital decisions and production planning

### Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

  
- Execute a range of transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic alliances
  
- Get involved from the outset of potential transactions and work closely with Corporate Finance and business units
  
- Focus on structuring transactions, leading due diligence, developing financial models, assisting with business cases, and managing internal approval processes

### Treasury

  
- Manage corporate liquidity and foreign exchange and commodity exposure
  
- Develop cash flow forecasts and mobilization strategies
  
- Invest cash balances, evaluate financing proposals, and execute FX & Commodity hedging plans
  
- Review insurance coverage and terms to support annual renewals

### Global Procurement Financial Planning and Analysis (GP FP&A)

  
- Partner with the Center of Excellence for global direct and indirect materials to deliver financial forecasts and plan
  
- Analyze and report commodity inflation or deflation and productivity initiatives to fuel performance, growth, and improve cash flow
  
- Perform analysis to enable commodity hedging, covers, and contract management

### Strategy and Transformation

  
- Build PepsiCo’s long-term strategy to deliver sustainable, profitable growth
  
- Support business development through M&A and partnerships
  
- Design and deploy next-generation initiatives to future-proof PepsiCo’s businesses
  
- Coordinate and scale sales technology and capability processes in coordination with functional teams
  
- Drive sector-wide initiatives across the company

### What You Can Expect

This is a summer internship in Finance at PepsiCo. Each intern is assigned a timely question from their team and is challenged to think strategically and engage cross-functional partners to provide a comprehensive recommendation during their final presentation. The approach mirrors the project-based work process of full-time employees, with support from managers and the broader Finance organization.

As a class, PepsiCo Finance interns receive exposure to senior leadership, education on the global PepsiCo organization, and opportunities to build relationships with fellow interns across functions and U.S. PepsiCo headquarters.

All finance roles are grounded in the following capability areas:

## Qualifications

### What We’re Looking For

  
- Concentration in Finance (other related concentrations will be considered)
  
- 3+ years of work experience
  
- Bright, self-starting, innovative thinkers with a passion for consumer products and interest in Corporate Finance
  
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships and operate with a growth mindset
  
- Ability to partner with cross-functional business leaders to craft short- and long-term strategy
  
- Awareness of digital trends, curiosity to learn about new tools/technology, or previous experience with digitization
  
- Ability to manage, glean insights from, and drive action based on large, disparate sources of data
  
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

### Minimum Qualifications

  
- Graduate with an MBA degree within one (1) year of internship completion
  
- Ability to be located in: Chicago, IL; Plano, TX; Purchase, NY
  
- This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States

## Compensation

The expected compensation hourly pay range for hires into the 2027 campus intern openings is **$55.50–$56.30 per hour**. Actual starting salary is determined based on role, degree discipline, degree level, and location. Hourly pay for campus hires is pre-determined and non-negotiable.
