Interns will gain insights into the Exchange business and the finance value chain, with involvement in real-time work from Day 1. **Note:** Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship. ## Exchange Operations Roles - Applied Intelligence - Applied Solutions - Derivatives Clearing House - Issuance and Custody ## Issuance and Custody (IPOC) ### Brief Overview The IPO & Custody (IPOC) team delivers services to more than 600 listed companies/issuers, Depository Agents, and CDP direct depositors. The team processes primary issuances of corporate bonds, Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB), and Singapore Government Securities (SGS), as well as other issuances such as structured warrants, certificates, DLCs, and ETFs. It also handles post-trade services including secondary market transfers and cross-border transfers against other markets. ### Learning Objectives - Gain exposure to Singapore Securities Market infrastructure, custody and depository operations, and a wide range of products across Equities, Structured Products, and Fixed Income. - Leverage advanced AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation. ### Job Description #### Business-As-Usual (BAU) Operations - Assist with the daily crediting of securities arising from new issuances, including Structured Warrants, Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs), Structured Certificates, Warrants, Bond Issuances, and ETF creations/redemptions. - Support the processing of cross-border securities transfers with CDP’s foreign custodians. - Assist with crediting securities arising from Employee Share Option Schemes (ESOS), warrant conversions, and Singapore Government Securities (SGS) issuances. - Support reconciliation to ensure depository holdings are fully supported by physical certificates lodged with the appointed custodian bank. - Assist with processing securities crediting and withdrawals arising from expiries and early redemptions of Structured Certificates and DLCs. #### Projects and Process Improvements - Support enhancement projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by the team. - Participate in process reviews and operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and scalability. ## Knowledge and Skill Requirements - Eye for details - Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented - Can-do spirit; fast learner - Effective team player - Ability to deal with ambiguity - Ability to communicate complex concepts - Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities - Strong interpersonal and effective relationship management skills - Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - Proficient in using AI tools for process optimization and data analysis, such as creating AI Agents and AI orchestration flows - Experience with workflow automation tools (such as n8n, Power Automate, or Zapier) is a plus - Experience in programming (VBA/Python) is an advantage ## Applying to this role This Intern - Exchange Operations, Issuance and Custody (Spring 2027, Jan to Jun) role at SGX runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
