This includes managing relationships across the globe with both the millions of merchants who accept American Express and our partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance, and innovation. The American Express business has two core customer types: Card Members who use our cards to make purchases, and the businesses that accept them. In Global Merchant & Network Services, the focus is primarily on the businesses that accept American Express. GMNS brings together the organizations that manage and evolve the company’s relationships with millions of merchants around the world, as well as the team that runs the company’s payment network and manages bank partnerships globally. This is an exciting time for GMNS as we expand global acceptance of our cards, drive greater usage of our network, leverage modern capabilities to capture broader revenue streams, and drive innovation both in-house and with partners. ### GMNS Scale - More than 80 million global locations accept American Express payment products - We operate in 198 countries and territories - 140+ million cards in force, performing 12 billion transactions per year and contributing more than $1.5 trillion in network volume - 190+ partners who either issue cards on our network and/or sign new businesses to accept Amex on our behalf ## Global Merchant & Network Pricing (GMNP) The Global Merchant & Network Pricing (GMNP) team is responsible for the single largest source of revenue for American Express: merchant discount revenue. The team works closely with multiple business partners to determine pricing structures that encourage merchant acceptance of American Express, while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction.
