We invest in our people and strive to imprint our CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility and Excellence. **Internship location:** PIMCO’s London Office. ## You’re eligible to apply if you: - Are an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree with an expected graduation date of December 2027 – June 2028. - Must be able to begin full-time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028. - Are on track to achieve a minimum 2.1 degree (or equivalent). - Are business proficient in English. ## You’ll excel as an Alternatives Business Management Intern if you: - Enjoy working collaboratively across the organization to resolve issues. - Have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. - Possess well-refined communication skills and can articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing. - Can work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously. - Have experience with (a plus): Excel, SQL, Business Objects, Bloomberg, iLEVEL, PowerBI, and DealCloud. - Preferred but not required: buy-side or sell-side trade room experience, private equity and/or real estate, legal and/or compliance, and product and/or project management related experience. - Have demonstrated curiosity and experience using new emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes. ## Alternatives Business Management Internship Since launching its first opportunistic credit vehicles over 15 years ago, PIMCO has developed a significant presence in both alternative credit and private investment strategies. Strategies include those that seek to identify value primarily in listed securities, relying on fundamental and capital structure analysis, as well as strategies that seek to privately finance the debt and equity needs of companies, asset holders, and origination platforms. We invest globally across commercial and residential real estate and mortgage credit, performing and distressed corporate debt, and specialty finance markets. As an Alternatives Business Management Intern, you will support the smooth operation of PIMCO’s alternatives business across relevant funds and accounts. You will work closely with portfolio managers to deliver relevant data and analytics to support decision-making, and you will support transformative strategic initiatives led by the team. ## Alternatives Business Management Responsibilities: ### Business Management & Administration - **Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting:** Manage critical reporting, forecasting, capacity analysis, and budgeting for the alternatives business. - **Business Administration:** Manage the administrative system that guides day-to-day operations for PIMCO’s global alternatives business. ### Strategic Initiatives & Solutions - **Strategic Initiatives:** Develop and manage strategic initiatives that allow PIMCO’s alternatives business to scale, achieve its goals, and mitigate risk. - **Solutions Management:** Create innovative solutions that are standardized, scalable, sustainable, singular, and secure. - **Project Management:** Lead complex projects with large cross-functional teams. - **Individual Contributor:** Often act as an individual contributor on the initiatives you spearhead and oversee. ### Governance, Transaction Management, and Deal Execution - **Governance and Administration:** Oversee governance and administration of alternatives fund policies & procedures, processes, and transaction management in the US and Europe. - **Transaction Management / Deal Execution:** Manage and oversee transactions throughout the deal lifecycle to maximize efficiencies and minimize delays. ## The PIMCO Internship Experience: - The internship is a 10-week program from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration. - During Week 1, participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training to build skills, knowledge, and relationships for success. - Alongside your colleagues, participate in PIMCO’s Global Month of Volunteering. - Join cross-divisional education, networking, and social events. - Your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders, and team will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the summer. - Gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, supported by training and resources. - Receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process. - Learn more about the PIMCO Internship Experience from past interns. - Receive competitive compensation, along with a transition bonus to help with relocation to one of our office locations. ## How to Apply: Applications open August 6.
