SGX offers unique experience and insights across the Exchange business and the finance value chain, with interns involved in real-time work from Day 1. **Note:** Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship. ## Team The intern will support the Commodities Product Management team, one of the key business drivers in SGX. The PM team is responsible for growing the revenue and liquidity of commodity derivatives, including Iron ore, Coal, Freight, Rubber, Dairy, Oil, Petrochemicals and EV metals. ## Learning Objectives - Gain hands-on experience across the different aspects of derivatives product management in an Exchange, and learn about the market structure and mechanics of SGX’s suite of commodity derivatives. - Support the daily functions of a derivatives product manager and build practical knowledge of how an Exchange lists and clears derivative contracts. - Learn the fundamentals of commodity markets through assisting with market research. - Contribute to projects such as product launches and marketing events. - Depending on intern preference, work with quantitative analytics, liquidity measurements and pricing models, or support Singapore Iron Ore Week (including marketing and client meetings). - Learn from technology stacks such as KDB_Q, Java, Groovy, as well as C# and relational database programming. ## Job Responsibilities - Build and maintain dashboards to monitor business performance such as volume, revenue, and product yields. - Support, enhance and develop analytics on order book, volume-driven liquidity, and pricing models for different products. - Research and develop quantitative trading ideas and strategies for commodity derivatives products. - Collect and analyse trade data for research reports, news articles and white papers. - Assist with the content, layout and design of marketing materials (presentations, brochures, videos) to drive trading activity. - Organise industry events, including workshops, roundtables, seminars, forums and Singapore Iron Ore Week. - Conduct research on peer exchanges and clearing houses to understand their product/service offerings and identify opportunities to enhance SGX’s offering. ## Job Requirements - Fluency in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in Chinese. - Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, including VBA/macros. - Good to have: any financial quantitative knowledge. - Good to know: at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java, C#, Python, Groovy, Perl) and SQL. - Good to have: interest in marketing and client outreach, and knowledge of digital/social media. - Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the willingness and ability to work in a team. - Ability to multitask; process-driven; able to think innovatively and independently; able to work under pressure and tight timelines. - Fast and smart learner, especially with programming languages. - Highly conscious of productivity, with great intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn and explore. - Great team player with flexibility in handling different workstreams. - Detail oriented. ## Applying to this role This Intern - Commodities, Product Management (Spring 2027, Jan to Jun) role at SGX runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
