This role is ideal for a recent graduate or an individual with up to two years of relevant experience who is looking to build a career in quantitative power markets and trading. The Analyst will report directly to the Head of the West Power Desk and will support the team’s analytical, modeling, and trading activities. ## Key Responsibilities - Support the West Power Trading Desk through quantitative analysis and market research - Develop and maintain analytical tools, models, and workflows to support trading decisions - Analyze market data, identify trends, and assist in evaluating trading opportunities - Apply statistical methods and quantitative techniques to market and pricing analysis - Collaborate with traders and other stakeholders to enhance desk processes and performance - Contribute to various projects related to market analytics, risk analysis, and trading strategy development ## Qualifications Required - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language - Understanding of statistics and quantitative methods - Knowledge of options pricing and derivatives concepts - Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment ## Preferred Qualifications - Up to two years of relevant experience in quantitative finance, energy markets, trading, or a related analytical field - Participation in a quantitative finance, financial engineering, or similar graduate program - Interest in power markets and energy trading ## What You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage, and allocate capital for our clients—helping them reach their goals.
