Using a holistic view of how technology and business integrate, the Cyber team delivers technology-risk focused assessments, technology compliance activities, IT/operational process reviews, and designs information risk and cyber security solutions. This role focuses on Cybersecurity in Operational Technology (OT), which sits at the intersection of two disciplines—Information Technology (IT) and OT/Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). OT security is a fulfilling area because clients engage the team to address a wide range of issues, including regulatory compliance, cyber risk assessments, penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, and more. ## Responsibilities - Perform risk assessment or threat modelling for a variety of industry control systems, including on-prem IT systems and systems deployed on the cloud. - Use your technical grounding in IT, OT/IIoT, engineering, or cloud computing to digest information about complex systems (e.g., network architecture, firewall rules) and develop an accurate understanding of those systems and their components. - Analyse and identify cybersecurity risks, including how attacks may enter networks and disrupt operations or create unsafe conditions that compromise safety. - Interact with clients to obtain information, clarify requirements, manage expectations, and provide clear explanations of your work. - Provide recommendations to improve the client’s security posture while considering how changes may impact their environment and existing practices. - Conduct assessments for other purposes, such as compliance audits—identifying gaps between regulatory requirements and current practices in OT or IT systems. - Work primarily in project teams and be supervised by more experienced team members (e.g., Assistant Managers and Managers). - Contribute to delivery of a wide range of services to clients beyond risk assessments. - Collaborate with subject matter experts across cybersecurity, including working with penetration testing teams to deliver red teaming exercises for owners/operators of critical infrastructure. ## Qualifications - Degree in Cybersecurity / Information Security; **or** - Degree in Engineering with relevant skills/experience/aptitude to further develop in the field of cybersecurity; **or** - Degree in Computer Science / IT with relevant skills/experience/aptitude to further develop in the field of cybersecurity; **or** - Experienced cybersecurity professionals with a strong interest in OT/IIoT; **or** - Experienced SCADA or DCS engineers with relevant skills/experience/aptitude to further develop in the field of cybersecurity; **or** - Experienced Internet of Things (IoT) developers/testers with relevant skills/experience/aptitude to further develop in the field of cybersecurity. ## Additional Qualifications (Advantageous) - Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM). - OT cybersecurity certifications (e.g., GICSP, GRID, IEC 62443). **#LI-AP1** ## Applying to this role This Advisory - Consulting, Cyber Operational Technology | Off-Cycle Internship (Jan 2027 to Jun 2027) role at KPMG runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
