The Global Markets network comprises more than 3,000 professionals across six main trading floors in London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Singapore, and Tokyo, supported by regional offices worldwide. ## Job Purpose The role is to assist the team with day-to-day business activities under supervision. ## Key Responsibilities - Participate in technical and business skills training under full supervision by senior team members. - Support senior team members with day-to-day activities. - Complete specific assignments. ## Data & AI Lab - Use the latest machine learning and deep learning techniques to build models for trading and sales, leveraging internal and external data to improve client service while managing the associated risk. - Build a next-generation Natural Language Understanding interface (including Speech-to-Text and chat-based systems) across all business lines. - Contribute to the design and development of core research projects, such as unsupervised classification of market participants’ behavior, sentiment analysis in chats, and improving market making in low- or high-frequency settings. - Innovate by introducing new techniques or technologies as needed. ## Requirements - Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record, and in pursuit of a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative subject, or equivalent work experience. - Good understanding of financial markets. - Curiosity and eagerness to learn. - Confident verbal and written communication and networking skills. - Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel. - Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills. - Strong analytical judgment. - Meticulous accuracy with a keen eye for detail. - Team player with a proactive mindset; independent, enthusiastic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills. - Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage. - Good programming skills (C++, Python, Java, R, or equivalent). - Delivery-driven mindset. ## Conduct - Be a role model by supporting and fostering a culture of good conduct. - Demonstrate proactivity, transparency, and accountability in identifying and managing conduct risks. - Consider the implications of your actions on colleagues. - Embod and practice Group values aligned with the Bank’s strategy, commitment, work ethic, integrity, and Code of Conduct. ## Application Notes - You may only apply to four Long Term Internships over the course of a year (across any business area). - Successful candidates for this long-term internship will be considered for London only. - Please discuss available start dates with your interviewers. - Unsuccessful candidates’ CVs may be shared with other teams within BNP Paribas and considered for potentially suitable roles for the relevant recruitment round. ## Location and Duration - Location: London - Duration: 8 ## Applying to this role This London - 2026 Long Term Internship - Data science Intern role at BNP Paribas runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
