For more information, visit www.gf.com. ## Summary of Role GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking a highly motivated Technician for its Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) & Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Operations team. The selected candidate will be trained to become a key member of the UPW and wastewater treatment operations team and will assist on-site operations, including control room monitoring, addressing alarms, coordinating and performing chemical offload activities, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvements to waste treatment systems. The Technician will work closely with other facilities operations team members to coordinate assigned tasks. In addition to strong technical responsibilities, the Technician must be able to work with the management team and Module Engineering to ensure constant uptime of all systems within the area of responsibility. The individual will report to the Fab 8 shift operations manager and will be located at Fab 8 in Malta, New York. ## Essential Responsibilities - Actively participate in all Facilities safety programs and help ensure compliance with all EHS policies and regulations by visitors, contractors, and employees of GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab8. - Assist facilities operations engineers to coordinate Facilities utilities turn on and turn off activities with manufacturing tool owners. - Assist in the creation and amendment of operations and maintenance specifications and procedures. - Support troubleshooting of UPW & WWT systems and chemical valve manifold boxes (VMBs) during offload operations. - Perform maintenance on various equipment, including but not limited to AODD pumps, centrifugal pumps, reverse osmosis units, multimedia filters, ion exchange units, and chemical waste treatment trains. - Perform calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment, including but not limited to pH, Fluoride, ORP, Conductivity, SiO2, and Boron measurement. - Support and participate in maintaining workspaces and systems to meet Fab8’s 6S program. - Assist and participate in the response, investigation, and resolution of contamination or other quality issues. - Participate in the qualification of new chemical and slurry lines or systems and support the facilitation and qualification of process tools. - Partner with other Senior Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned specialty areas. - Partner with Engineering, staff technicians, and other specialty technicians on facilities projects, including system modification and upgrades. - Participation on the Facilities Emergency Response Team may be required. - Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required. ## Other Responsibilities - Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. ## Required Qualifications - 2-year Technical Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor operations, or a related discipline. - Equivalent military training/experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant facilities experience. - Certification from an accredited trade school with a minimum of 3 years of relevant facilities experience. - High school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant facilities experience. - Possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license. - Fluency in English (written and verbal). - Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. - Physical capacity demands: - Able to perform shift work on a 12-hours-per-day shift schedule if required. - Able to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required cleanroom clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements. - Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift. - Able to wear appropriate PPE to handle chemicals, including SCBA, respirators, and chemical suits. ## Preferred Qualifications - 4+ years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing. ## Alternating Week Shift Schedules - Week 1: Wednesday to Saturday (nights) 06:00 PM to 06:30 AM - Week 2: Wednesday to Friday (nights) 06:00 PM to 06:30 AM ## Expected Salary Range $43,100.00 - $70,600.00 The exact salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location. ## Applying to this role This UPW and WWT Technician Facilities Engineering (D Shift) role at GlobalFoundries runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
