This onsite role provides hands-on experience in embedded systems design, software development, and product implementation for industrial ignition and flame detection systems. Working with experienced engineers and a dedicated mentor, you will contribute to the design, testing, validation, documentation, and implementation of products used in demanding industrial applications. ## What You Will Do - Assist in the design and implementation of embedded systems for industrial ignition and flame detection products. - Support the selection and integration of embedded target devices, peripheral interfaces, and supporting electronic circuitry. - Develop and implement embedded software using industry-standard programming practices. - Assist in implementing and testing standard communication protocols and hardware interfaces. - Design, build, and support product test equipment used for validation and production testing. - Collaborate with a diverse engineering team through all phases of product development, including concept, design, testing, verification, documentation, and production support. - Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including code flowcharts, software documentation, work instructions, and code commenting standards. - Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback on product performance, reliability, and manufacturability. ## Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. - Will be enrolled as a Junior-level student or higher at the start of the co-op assignment. - Available to work full-time onsite in Norwich, NY for the duration of the co-op term (4–8 months). ## What Will Put You Ahead - Experience programming in C, C++, Python, or similar languages. - Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or electronic hardware projects through coursework, internships, clubs, or personal projects. - Exposure to embedded software development, hardware interfacing, communication protocols, or electronics design. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical work effectively. ## Compensation For this role, we anticipate paying **$28–$30 per hour**.
