We are a flat organization that encourages innovation and collaboration. ## Frontend Developer Internship ### Internship Overview Virtu’s internship program provides students an opportunity to learn about the firm and the world’s financial markets. The program includes a company-curated global training week, real-world development projects, and social events to help you connect with our team and culture. - **Location:** New York - **Dates:** 10-week program, starting June 7, 2027 – August 13, 2027 (with flexibility if needed) - **Training:** Ongoing training throughout the summer and a training week held in New York - **Projects:** Real problems to solve throughout the program. Interns will work from a list of projects and have several senior mentors throughout the summer program. - **Perks:** Onsite Barista, weekly happy hours, social events, daily lunch, stocked pantry ### Role & Responsibilities Virtu’s User Interface (UI) development team is a group of versatile software engineers collaborating with traders and developers to gather requirements, understand needs, and implement real-time trading, visualization, analysis, and reporting tools. Ideal candidates have a passion for designing great, intuitive user interfaces and strong experience with web technologies and JavaScript frameworks. As an intern, you will complete a variety of challenging development projects alongside our senior team to improve scalability, performance, and efficiency of our cutting-edge trading systems. This is a rare opportunity to learn how to design and architect trading tools for scale and performance, and to support the massive amounts of data that flow through Virtu’s trading systems daily. ## Requirements - Rising juniors, or students expected to be ready for full-time employment between December 2027 and June 2028. - Excellent academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Strong programming skills in JavaScript, React, and Node. - Experience with TypeScript, Java, C++, or Python is a plus. - Comfort working across a wide variety of projects (frontend/backend, different programming languages). - _A physicalizer_: a person who identifies issues and creates solutions without rigid direction or fanfare. - Highly motivated and tenacious; proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team. - Team player: authentic and capable of working toward collective goals. ## The Process After applicants pass an initial resume screening, an online programming test will be emailed via HackerRank.
