The team also cross-sells wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group, including transaction banking and trade finance solutions. ## Purpose Responsible for executing on a broad range of transactions, preparing client presentations and financial modeling, and supporting Directors/MDs by working closely with Associates/Associate Directors to manage client relationships in the industry sector. Contribute to the overall success of the team by ensuring individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures. ## What You’ll Do Champion a client-centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions across Scotiabank’s footprint and generate revenue. Relationship management and cross-collaboration includes: - Coordinating with the various product groups and industry team within GBM - Developing and maintaining effective industry relationships with legal counsel, external parties, and clients **Day-to-day responsibilities include:** - Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients - Creating marketing materials and presentations - Supporting transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility over time - Identifying and developing business opportunities with clients - Performing comprehensive financial statement analysis and creating and maintaining models - Collecting, consolidating, and interpreting company and industry data - Providing financial and written analysis of companies and industries - Applying product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives Actively contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment. ## What You’ll Bring - 0-3 years of work experience in Investment Banking - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology - Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel - High attention to detail - High energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts - Obtain and maintain required FINRA registration and licensing appropriate to your functions and responsibilities ## Location United States — New York — New York City ## Applying to this role This Analyst, Investment Banking, Power & Utilities role at Scotiabank runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
