We work hard, have fun, and strive to be virtuous in all we do. ### Internship Program Overview Virtu’s internship program offers students an opportunity to learn about the firm and the world’s financial markets. The program includes a company-curated global training week, real-world development projects, and social events to help you connect with our team and culture. - **Location:** Austin, New York - **Dates:** 10-week program, June 7, 2027 – August 13, 2027 (flexibility if needed) - **Training:** Ongoing training throughout the summer and a training week held in New York or Austin - **Projects:** Real problems to solve throughout the program. Interns will work from a list of projects and have several senior mentors throughout the summer - **Perks** _(varies by location)_: Onsite gym & workout classes, onsite barista, weekly happy hours/social events, breakfast & lunch, transportation ### About the Development Team Our development team is a group of versatile software engineers responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our proprietary, low-latency trading systems, as well as our proprietary trading algorithms. The team also builds powerful trading tools that support all stages of our high-performance system deployed across financial marketplaces worldwide. ### Role Description As an intern, you will complete a variety of challenging development projects. You’ll work alongside our senior team to improve scalability, performance, and efficiency of our cutting-edge trading systems. This is a rare opportunity to learn how to design and architect a trading system for scale and to support the massive amounts of data that flow through Virtu’s trading systems daily. ## Requirements - Rising juniors, or students expected to be ready for full-time employment between December 2027 and June 2028 - Excellent academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - Strong programming skills in Python and either Java or C++ - Experience with JavaScript is a plus - Some lower-level programming experience is a plus but not required - Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude - Comfort working across a wide variety of projects (front-end/back-end and different programming languages) - “Physicalizer” mindset: identifies issues and creates solutions without rigid direction or fanfare - Highly motivated and tenacious, with the ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team - Team player: authentic and capable of working toward collective goals ## The Process After applicants pass an initial resume screening, an online programming test will be emailed to you via HackerRank.
