For further information about Nomura, visit www.nomura.com. ## Department Overview The position is for a Software Engineer to work in a global development team within Global Markets IT. The successful candidate will join a team developing a new global cross-asset trading processing platform for Global Markets, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing Global Markets trade processing systems. The role will be based in the London team, which leads the global team. ## Role Description The candidate will be part of a global development team with responsibility for designing, building and deploying a global trade processing system in a series of phased deliverables. This will involve: - Development and testing of services critical for the capture, persistence and distribution of trades and related data, and services to provide those trades to other GMIT systems on-demand and in real time. - Leveraging Nomura DevOps services for deployment of services to non-production and production environments. - System support (not 1st level support) and maintenance. - Coordination with other Global Markets technology teams to develop comprehensive capabilities across various applications. ## Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge The following are required or highly desirable: - Ability to work within a global team spread across multiple time zones; strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Desire to work in a technology team focused on providing services to other IT systems. - Strong Java development skills with an understanding of testing, DevOps, and related development cycles. - Experience with distributed messaging technologies (ideally JMS, Apache Pulsar or Solace). - Experience with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server). - Knowledge of frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Project Reactor/Spring Webflux is ideal. - Skills in JavaScript/React and/or Python would be beneficial. - Knowledge of AI would be useful as the team looks to leverage AI in development workflows and build tools to integrate Trade Processing with AI solutions. ## Nomura Leadership Behaviours - Explore Insights & Vision: identify underlying causes of problems and define a clear vision and direction. - Making Strategic Decisions: evaluate options and prioritize actions or recommendations. - Inspire Entrepreneurship in People: motivate team members to enhance productivity. - Elevate Organizational Capability: promote knowledge sharing and professional development. - Inclusion: foster DEI, psychological safety, and a risk-aware culture. ## Right to Work The UK Government has limited overseas workers.
