The group’s main business is the implementation of mission-critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. ## Job Description Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems and software applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and broadband systems. ### Responsibilities - Maintain, optimize, test and document complex communications systems. - Perform preventive maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results. - Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshoot to resolve system/application related issues. - Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues. - Collaborate with engineering, project management and sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations. - Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments. ### Specific Knowledge/Skills - 2-year associate degree in electronics or IT preferred, or equivalent on-the-job experience. - Security+, CompTIA or related certificate is highly desirable. - Proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges. - Knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). - Experience with logging/recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems and networking equipment. - Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. - Must have a current, valid driver’s license and no traffic violations. ### Personal Traits - Strong self-management and interpersonal communication skills to work with customers, MSS community, and Motorola teams. - Self-motivated and capable of working at a distance from direct supervision. - Ability to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong sense of urgency, work ethic, and results orientation. ### Candidate Requirements - Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers. - Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position. - Current, valid driver’s license with no traffic violations. - Willingness to travel 25% of the time as needed. #LI-CC1 Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD Pay is consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law. Pay within this range varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
