For more information about the Bank, please visit the Bank’s website at MCBankNY.com. ## Position **Job Title:** Staff Accountant **Reporting to:** Assistant Controller The Staff Accountant will support the corporate controller’s team, including processing month-end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision and fit well in our small company environment. ## Working Arrangement Standard 4-day in-office requirement, 1 day remote (of your choosing). ## Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Prepare month-end close procedures in a timely manner, including journal entries and analysis of variances in account balances. - Perform daily and monthly balance sheet reconciliations in M-Files; promptly investigate and clear reconciling items, communicating with involved groups (Loan Servicing Team, Cash and Deposit Operations, Human Resources). - Perform OFAC compliance review over new vendors and regular vendor listings. - Contribute to special projects and ad hoc requests. - Manage and improve documentation procedures around assigned activities. - Drive audit compliance within the areas for which you are responsible. - Analyze and process accounts payable invoices in Concur. ## Skills - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting - CPA or CPA-seeking candidate - PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) - Good working knowledge of GAAP and bank accounting principles - Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, work independently, strong verbal and written communication, and a service- and team-oriented mindset - 1–3 years of experience in a banking environment - Finxact core banking and Prologue general ledger experience is a plus - Driven by curiosity to continuously learn how various technological systems, including AI, can enhance work processes ## Compensation **Potential Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually** This salary range reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are wide to reflect factors such as seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
