London - 2026 Long Term Internship - Structured Product Sales

Business Area

You will join the South Africa Structured Products Desk. The desk offers a full range of innovative cross-asset, equity, index, fixed income, FX, commodity, and fund-linked structured products. The team focuses on innovation and the use of derivative instruments, continuously striving to develop best investment solutions for clients.

The Sales teams play a pivotal role on the trading floor by establishing and maintaining strong client relationships to win business for the bank. Coverage focuses on distributor and institutional clients in the region, including banks, insurance companies, asset management companies, and pension funds. The team remains at the forefront of innovation, seeking new investment solutions across different asset classes and regions.

Location: London (based in the London office).

Job Purpose

The role is to support senior team members in day-to-day business activities and contribute to a variety of tasks, providing a general introduction to the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing and booking of structured products through regular interactions with traders, structurers, Middle Office/Back Office (MO/BO), Legal, and Marketing.
• Draft term sheets, marketing materials, and client pitches.
• Track structured products, including coupon payments, redemptions, and secondary trading.
• Identify new prospect clients and new strategies to gain market share.
• Develop new payoffs and investment ideas to meet client needs.
• Run specific studies in line with Sales and structurers’ requirements.
• Complete monthly tasks such as performance reports, fact sheets, and valuations.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in technical and business skills training.
• Support senior team members with day-to-day activities.
• Complete specific assignments as required.

Requirements

• Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record, or equivalent work experience.
• Good understanding of financial markets.
• Curious and eager to learn.
• Confident verbal and written communication, with strong networking skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel.
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Strong analysis and judgement.
• Meticulous accuracy with a keen eye for detail.
• Team player; proactive, independent, enthusiastic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
