## Role details

## Job Responsibilities

### System Monitoring & Availability

  
- Proactively monitor banking applications, servers, and batch jobs to ensure continuous system availability and optimal performance.
  
- Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana) to track system health and identify potential issues.

### Incident Management & Resolution

  
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for incident handling, escalation, and recovery.
  
- Escalate critical issues to senior engineers, tracking them through to resolution.
  
- Support post-incident reviews and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.

### Documentation & Reporting

  
- Maintain and update dashboards, logs, and documentation for system health and incident management.
  
- Contribute to improving existing SOPs based on operational experience and best practices.

### Operational Support

  
- Provide technical support, including basic troubleshooting on Linux/Unix systems and fundamental networking concepts.
  
- Learn and understand production changes and release management processes within the financial services environment.

### Team Collaboration

  
- Work effectively within a team, communicate clearly on technical issues, and demonstrate discipline in following processes.

### Shift Work

  
- Be adaptable to working on a rotating shift basis, which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays, to ensure 24/7 system coverage.

## Job Requirements

  
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  
- Strong interest in technology operations, system monitoring concepts, and IT support.
  
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
  
- Effective communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical information to team members and other stakeholders.
  
- A team player with a disciplined approach to following processes and a positive work attitude.
  
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and dynamic production environments.
  
- Willingness and adaptability to perform shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
