Over a 6-month period, the intern will become a key member of the investment team and work directly with other investment professionals in a country-team setting. From day one, the intern will contribute to the full set of deal-making activities, including deal origination, deal execution, and portfolio management. The intern will support CETP’s investment activities in the Benelux and work closely with the country teams (a Director and Associate Director for the Benelux). ## Primary Responsibilities - Deal origination and market screening: execute deal sourcing, company research, and pipeline-building activities for the Benelux. - Due diligence: conduct primary research activities, execute key financial analyses, and contribute to due diligence across financial, commercial, technology, legal, tax, etc. - Deal execution: prepare and support drafting of investment memos and set up financial models. - Portfolio monitoring: assist in overseeing portfolio company performance, support the deal team, and participate in value-creation initiatives. ## Requirements - Education: Strong academic record from a leading institution up to a Masters, or for UK graduates, at Bachelor’s or Master’s level (minimum 2:1 or equivalent). - Experience: Previous internship in a related environment such as investment banking, private equity, etc. - Competencies & Attributes: - Excellent English verbal and written communication; native fluency in Dutch or Flemish is preferred but not required. - Strong Excel/financial modeling skills and excellent analytical capabilities. - High intellectual curiosity about the fundamentals of different companies, industries, and investment opportunities. - Entrepreneurial and proactive spirit; self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. - Solid organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize. - Strong interpersonal skills; adaptable and able to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels. - A true team player focused on the success of the team and willing to contribute in any role. ## About The Carlyle Group The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) is a global investment firm with substantial assets under management and a broad portfolio across three segments—Global Private Equity, Global Credit, and Carlyle AlpInvest.
