The role requires relationship-building, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment. ## Your Impact As the third line of defense, Internal Audit independently assesses the firm’s internal control structure, governance processes, risk management, capital and anti-financial crime frameworks, and monitors the implementation of management’s control measures. Key activities include: - Communicating and reporting on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and controls that mitigate current and evolving risk - Raising awareness of control risk - Assessing the firm’s control culture and conduct risks - Monitoring management’s implementation of control measures Goldman Sachs Internal Audit comprises professionals from diverse backgrounds, including chartered accountants, developers, risk management, cybersecurity, and data science. We are organized into global teams covering all the firm’s businesses and functions, including securities, investment banking, consumer and investment management, risk management, finance, cyber-security and technology risk, and engineering. ## Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a strong understanding of business areas, products, and supporting functions - Plan and execute audit testing to ensure fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high quality standards - Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations to improve the control environment - Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business stakeholders - Follow up on open audit issues and their resolution ## Skills and Relevant Experience - Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability - Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Solid analytical skills - Good technical knowledge of relevant product areas - Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment - 1–3 years of experience in internal audit, a risk role, or an independent validation function within financial services or Big 4 risk advisory - Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA) is a plus ## About Goldman Sachs At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
