It also ensures no negative impact on product quality, wafer yield, or manufacturing line performance. The work will support the department’s objective to maximize manufacturing output through process optimization. The project will involve understanding process gas flow behavior within the diffusion furnace, including how different gas injectors influence gas distribution and uniformity. In addition, the project will study how temperature modulation across multiple furnace heating zones affects film deposition uniformity along the furnace boat. Findings from this study will be used to define and validate operating conditions that enable higher batch loading while maintaining process robustness. ## Project Scope - Analyze gas flow and temperature behavior in diffusion furnaces and their impact on film deposition and wafer performance - Correlate process conditions with film uniformity and support qualification of increased batch load size in high‑volume manufacturing - Collaborate with process, equipment, and manufacturing teams on data analysis, optimization, and production implementation ## Deliverables - Process characterization, analysis results, and recommended conditions for increased batch load size - Final technical report and presentation ## Impact Improved diffusion furnace productivity and manufacturing capacity, enabling higher output without compromising wafer quality, yield, or manufacturing line performance. ## Skillset & Requirements General problem solving, data analysis, basic understanding of chemical or materials engineering principles, ability to work with manufacturing data, and clear technical communication skills. ## Course of Interest Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related engineering fields. ## Duration Minimum 5 months (Full semester internship) ## About Micron Technology, Inc.
