Role

The Fund Finance Analyst oversees and manages all analytical, financial, and accounting aspects of a private equity investment fund (covering both secondaries and primaries).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report on portfolio and investor performance for each investment vehicle.
  • Prepare quarterly fund valuations for reporting to the valuation committee and compute performance indicators (IRR, DPI, TVPI) on a quarterly basis.
  • Regularly and ad hoc reporting to investors through multiple channels based on finalized valuations (Valuation Conferences, Advisory Boards, Management Reports).
  • Collaborate as a member of the London FF – S&P team with colleagues in New York, Montreal, Paris, Frankfurt, and Zurich; the role is cross-geographical.
  • Coordinate with Front Office and other offices (Paris, London, Frankfurt, New York, San Francisco, Singapore) for the exchange of financial and qualitative information; interact with administrators in Jersey, the UK, the US, and Luxembourg; and liaise with banks, legal counsel, and other service providers as necessary.
  • Monitor and control fund cash flows at both Investor and Portfolio levels, including follow-ups on hedging contracts and FX gains/losses.
  • Oversee accounting and quarterly financial statements of the funds, liaising with external fund administrators and fund accountants.
  • Manage debt and interest payments and provide various reporting to debt providers; assess the impact of leverage recommendations on portfolio and investor performance.
  • Contribute to internal team projects on a fixed and ad hoc basis and continually seek process improvements across the function.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory awareness around the fund-of-funds environment (AIFMD, FCA, CSSF, SEC, etc.).
  • Utilize IT tools to fulfill duties (eFront, Business Objects).

Progression

Depending on capabilities and progression, take on additional responsibilities such as:

  • Participating in new deal setups to ensure modeling reflects the legal documentation and covers relevant issues.
  • Preparing fund flows for operations (deal fundings, syndications, investor reallocations, active portfolio management).

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Alteryx and Business Objects is a plus. Coding (e.g., Python) and appropriate use of AI are advantages.
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis and valuation techniques.
  • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently.

Profile

  • Strong academic background; master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience (corporate finance, public accounting, asset management, financial institutions).
  • Private equity fund experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; inquisitive by nature and capable of handling multiple challenges.
  • Able to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
  • Result-driven with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Analytical mindset.
