## Role Summary

We are looking for a Trade Support Associate within our Markets & Securities Services team at SMBC Group EMEA. The role plays a key part in ensuring BAU and daily team tasks are completed accurately, on time, and to the expected standards in accordance with operational procedures. The role involves escalating issues, reporting routinely, and updating management promptly. It also includes proactively reviewing and maintaining desktop procedures, suggesting improvements to enhance operational processes, and promoting a customer-centric culture by providing value-add service and strengthening internal and external relationships.

## Position Description

### Background

Perform daily MiFID II transaction reporting in line with established procedures. Submit transaction data via UnaVista (TR and ARM). Complete daily reconciliations, key controls, and end-of-day reporting dashboards. Identify, investigate, document, and escalate reporting discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain and update desktop procedures to ensure accuracy and governance compliance. Support projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives. Manage shared inboxes and queries, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution. Liaise with internal stakeholders including Treasury, IT, Compliance, JRIE, and Front Office. Engage with support teams to ensure system availability and escalate issues as required. Collaborate with team members to meet operational deadlines and support ad-hoc tasks. Demonstrate understanding of the role’s contribution to wider team and regulatory objectives.

### Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily MiFID II reporting and related activities, meeting regulatory and contractual obligations.
  
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders; escalate and resolve issues promptly.
  
- Maintain and periodically review desktop procedures; update the policy and procedures database in line with bank standards.
  
- Proactively identify and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  
- Adhere to bank policies, control frameworks, and best practices at all times.
  
- Ensure full compliance with applicable MiFIR regulatory requirements.
  
- Follow compliance procedures, complete mandatory training, and integrate regulatory requirements into day-to-day activities, demonstrating awareness of risks and controls.

### Experience & Qualifications

  
- Previous experience in a reporting environment with exposure to regulatory reporting is desirable but not essential.
  
- Good communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively at all levels.
  
- Strong working knowledge of Excel; ability to manipulate financial data.
  
- Self-motivated, energetic, flexible, and collaborative.
  
- Ability to identify efficiencies and suggest methods to implement change to existing processes.
