Indirect Tax Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking an Indirect Tax Assistant to join our tax team. Reporting to the Head of Tax for energy trading, you will prepare international VAT returns and reconciliations, ensure compliance, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Indirect Tax Supervisor to prepare various international VAT returns and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
• Investigate, monitor, and explain variances or fluctuations, taking a proactive problem-solving approach to identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather, verify, and document information required for VAT reporting and compliance obligations.
• Support the identification and streamlining of existing reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall service delivery.
• Demonstrate initiative in managing responsibilities, resolving issues independently where appropriate, and escalating risks or concerns in a timely manner.
• Contribute positively to the wider Tax Team by supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high professional standards.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with confidence using spreadsheets and handling large volumes of data.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn, develop technical knowledge, and take on new challenges.
