For each asset class, ICAP offers e-trading capability, giving clients the option to enter prices and execute trades directly via one of our hybrid electronic trading systems, or to engage with brokers who can identify and negotiate trades. ## Role Overview This is an entry-level opportunity to join the ICAP C3 Forwards desk, offering hands-on exposure to a fast-paced and highly dynamic trading environment. The C3 Forwards desk operates within FX markets, focusing on forward products and supporting clients with pricing, liquidity, and execution across emerging and developed market currencies. As a Desk Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting brokers with the day-to-day running of the desk. The role provides foundational experience across trade capture, market monitoring, and operational workflows, acting as a core entry point into the interdealer broking industry. The position offers a clear pathway into a Trainee Broker role, with progression based on performance, commercial awareness, and development of market knowledge. ## Key Responsibilities - Provide full administrative and operational support to brokers on the C3 Forwards desk - Accurately capture, input, and maintain trade data in internal systems in a timely manner - Monitor trades and perform reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required - Maintain accurate, auditable trade records, ensuring high levels of data integrity - Update electronic trading platforms and price boards with live FX forward pricing and market updates - Assist in the preparation and distribution of trade runs, axes, and market commentary - Actively monitor FX markets, including spot and forward curves, with awareness of key macro drivers - Support brokers with pricing context and market colour, where appropriate - Liaise with internal functions (e.g. Middle Office, Compliance) and external counterparties to ensure smooth trade processing - Contribute to desk reporting, projects, and process improvements - Maintain high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality at all times - Represent TP ICAP in line with its values, conduct framework, and client-first culture ## Experience & Competencies ### Essential - Educated to GCSE and/or A-Level standard (or equivalent) - Demonstrable interest in financial markets, particularly FX and macroeconomics - Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data handling - Good numerical and analytical skills - Proficient in Excel and general IT systems - Proven work ethic with a proactive and hands-on approach - Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment - Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a desk environment - Professional, reliable, and aligned to high ethical and conduct standards ### Desirable - Understanding of FX markets, including spot and forward products - Awareness of macro drivers (interest rates, inflation, central bank policy, geopolitical events) - Previous experience (internship, placement or role) within a financial services or corporate environment - Proven communication skills, with confidence interacting internally - Ability to use initiative and contribute to process improvements - Demonstrated ambition to progress into a front-office broking career - High energy, resilience, and a commercial mindset ## Band & Level - Support / 3 #ICAP #LI-ENT #LI-Onsite ## Not The Perfect Fit?
