Learn more about our benefits. ## Key Responsibilities - Manage all materials shortages for assigned Business Unit (BU) in close collaboration with Purchasing, Supplier Account Management, Suppliers, and respective functions to ensure supply continuity and keep production lines running. - Lead internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communication regarding material availability. - Work with Purchasing Manager/Buyers on constraint suppliers/critical parts to ensure supply continuity; escalate to suppliers/PM when parts are HOT, shipments are missed, or commitments aren’t met. - Plan materials for all critical parts with business knowledge to drive strategic supply and ensure adequate supply to meet business demand and changes. - Collaborate with engineering, MPM, SCM, and other functions to ensure BOM integrity and accuracy in driving material requirements. - Serve as the focal point for BU-related material shortages escalation (1st level) and resolution; work with suppliers/PM/buyers to explore all possibilities and provide timely updates to BU. - Attend BU Production/War Room Meetings and suppliers’ meetings as needed for shortage resolution and escalation. - Expedite and ensure timely receipt of critical materials. - Coordinate and drive purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain inventory at planned levels; lead problem resolution for material-related accounting and receiving issues. - Design, develop and implement flexible solutions to aid supply and purchasing efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value. - Develop methods of business simplification for the procurement function; assist or participate in the development of ISO documents for purchasing. - Review MRP regularly, identify issues, and escalate as necessary to materials management; manage actions per ECO disposition worldwide. - Maintain inventory levels per plan and perform E&Z analysis; minimize excess and zero-demand inventory; provide input to management on long-term issue action plans. - Interpret part specifications and engineering drawings; communicate with engineers and suppliers using knowledge of material types; provide feedback to engineering for cost reduction efforts. ## Functional Knowledge - Demonstrates expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities. ## Business Expertise - Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. ## Leadership - No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members. ## Problem Solving - Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. ## Impact - Impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies. ## Interpersonal Skills - Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations; works to build consensus. ## Additional Information **Time Type:** Full time **Employee Type:** New College Grad **Travel:** Yes, 10% of the time **Relocation Eligible:** Yes Applied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
