Role

Data Center Operations Engineer (DCO Engineer) will be responsible for the on-site management of the hardware lifecycle of our Singapore IT infrastructure. You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware on a 24/7 basis, and, with key technical subject matter experts, participate in the design, implementation, and commissioning of our advanced IT infrastructure. You will drive and implement projects to enhance operational efficiency and share experiences with our global network of technical experts.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure data center servers and network systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and replace internal and external hardware parts of servers and network devices.
• Perform storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.) sanitization and destruction tasks.
• Work within a ticket-based environment and pursue systematic problem resolution.
• Move equipment using assisted machinery.
• Follow a rotational shift-based schedule to maintain high system reliability by prioritizing trouble tickets.
• Collaborate with internal teams (DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security, Projects, etc.) to share ideas and contribute to innovative projects that improve DC work environment and efficiencies.
• Participate in, lead, and deliver small to mid-scale projects including new data center rollout.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ year of computer networking experience
• 1+ year of Linux operating systems experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in computer networking
• Experience working with Linux operating systems
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
