## Our Culture

Our culture is anchored in excellence and constant improvement. Markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter every day, so we must continually improve to stay ahead. Truth is our essential tool for engaging with the markets and improving decision-making. Valuing truth means being transparent about our decisions and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and prioritizing the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. Our Philosophy Statement, originated by our founder Ray Dalio, remains our foundation, evolving into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, we re-underwrote several principles with a focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits alongside our people as our most important edge.

## About the Client Service Department

Bridgewater believes that the key to our success lies in creating meaningful, long-lasting relationships with our clients. The Client Service team works closely with clients to broaden their understanding of the company’s investment process and products, and to deepen their understanding of the financial markets. Beyond traditional client service, Bridgewater’s Client Service group acts as an advisor to clients on their entire portfolio, not just the portion under management at Bridgewater.

By providing exceptional transparency and reporting on portfolios, market outlook and performance, risk management analysis, and advisory research, Client Service helps clients solve their most pressing investment problems and plan their investment strategies. The group frequently meets with clients to discuss portfolio performance, provide updates on recent research, and advise on strategies that meet client needs, including areas such as risk budgeting, alpha and beta separation, portable alpha, optimal beta, currency overlay, and global inflation-indexed bond investing.

## About Your Role

Analysts in Client Reporting & Portfolio Analytics play a vital role in servicing Bridgewater’s client service strategy. Working at the heart of client-focused reporting and analytics, Analysts gain an aerial view into our evolving market perspectives, company-wide projects, and investment philosophy. They collaborate with Client Advisors and Investment Minds to handle client-focused reporting projects. Analysts project-manage, perform analyses, and generate insights to shape clients’ investment thinking or provide transparency into performance and positions for reporting needs.

Analysts continually expand their market knowledge through formal training and on-the-job instruction, becoming well-versed in our investment approach, strategies, book of business, and production systems.

### What Successful Analysts Do

- Develop a holistic understanding of portfolios and portfolio management principles.

- Understand the depth and breadth of Bridgewater’s market knowledge and its pioneering work in institutional asset management and alpha and beta separation.

- Contribute to Bridgewater’s client service strategy by generating insights and conveying key messages about our investment philosophy, strategies, performance, and market outlook.

You will drive the following responsibilities:

- Understand Bridgewater’s book of business, related commercial strategy, and investment thinking.

- Strategize with Client Advisors, other Research teams, and investment professionals (including CIOs and senior researchers) to develop the best approach for handling client requests and enabling high-quality client engagements.

- Apply analytical skills, market knowledge, and understanding of Bridgewater’s investment methodology to create insights that shape clients’ investment thinking or deliver client-ready portfolio position and performance reports.

- Work creatively with existing methodologies and tools to identify and solve problems in how we serve clients, while contributing to the creation of new tools, models, or “machines” to automate and streamline processes.
