## Overview

KPMG Cybersecurity professionals assist clients to address concerns around confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of technology, business systems, and information assets. Using a holistic view of how technology and business integrate, the Cyber team performs technology-risk focused assessments, technology compliance, IT/operational process reviews, and the design of information risk & cyber security solutions.

## Role Summary

We are looking for candidates to join a growing team to assist clients in the following area. KPMG Cyber Response professionals work at the forefront of major cyber-attacks, supporting our clients as the “First Responders” to cyber security incidents and major cyber emergencies. They respond to incidents such as ransomware, business email compromise, data breaches, security incidents in cloud, unauthorized IT resource access, and other network intrusions. Responsibilities include investigating the root cause and extent of breaches, containment and remediation, and providing practical recommendations to prevent recurrence. The role also supports non-emergency engagements including Compromise Assessments and Threat Hunting, as well as Table-Top Exercises, IR Training, Playbook development, and Incident Response plan reviews.

## Responsibilities

  
- Collaborate with KPMG cyber security subject matter experts to design, implement, test, and support client solutions.
  
- Work with engagement managers to assist in log analysis, review endpoint data to identify anomalies, indicators of compromise (IOCs), malicious files, and threat actors to determine root cause and incident impact.
  
- Support containment and eradication efforts and assist with documenting findings for IR updates.
  
- Coordinate with other cyber teams to deliver end-to-end incident response and recovery, including support for Cyber OT/IoT security services such as risk assessment, VAPT, OT cybersecurity audits, and maturity assessments.
  
- Assist senior team members in preparing playbooks, TTX materials, and business proposals.

## Qualifications & Skills

### Educational Background

  
- Degree in Cybersecurity / Information Security; OR
  
- Degree in Engineering with relevant cybersecurity skills/experience; OR
  
- Degree in Computer Science / IT with relevant cybersecurity skills/experience

### Technical Proficiencies

  
- Solid understanding of core cybersecurity principles, threat vectors, vulnerabilities, and defense mechanisms.
  
- Awareness of standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SANS PICERL model.
  
- Familiarity with Windows artifacts and endpoint logs; familiarity with network device logs and forensic triage is preferred but not mandatory.
  
- Understanding of the incident response lifecycle and ability to support containment and recovery efforts.
  
- Ability to contribute to incident reports, playbooks, and TTX reports.
  
- Programming skills are preferred.
  
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is preferred.
  
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CHFI, CEH or mid-level GIAC certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
