Project Description

This project focuses on the evaluation and optimization of copper plating processes to achieve tool-to-tool consistency and stable manufacturing performance across multiple plating platforms. The intern will gain structured exposure to copper plating process flow, including chemistry control, equipment configuration, and process operating windows, while applying data-driven methods to study process alignment and manufacturability.

Objective of the Project

The objective of this project is to develop process understanding and analytical capability through the assessment of copper plating tool performance, identifying variation sources and improvement opportunities to enhance consistency and reliability.

Project Scope

The project covers copper plating process learning, evaluation of inline defect data, correlation of process conditions and tool parameters, and analysis of yield, electrical and metrology data to assess process stability. The intern will observe structured process release activities, conduct exploratory data analysis, participate in controlled experiments and apply basic statistical process control concepts under proper technical guidance.

Learning Opportunities

Through this project, the intern will build foundational knowledge of copper plating technology, data analysis techniques, experiment planning methodology and process control principles, while strengthening problem-solving, documentation and engineering reasoning skills.

Skillset Required

Basic understanding of chemical or materials engineering principles, data analysis capability, logical thinking, attention to detail and effective written communication skills.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related engineering disciplines.
