Role Overview

CME Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Services Intern to join our Derived Data Services team for a one-year placement. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of our client reporting and billing ecosystem.

As an intern, you will bridge the gap between contractual agreements and financial execution. You will play a key role in day-to-day operations while contributing to high-impact projects focused on the automation and integration of our global billing workflows.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Contractual Alignment: Audit and confirm that client reporting configurations accurately reflect the specific commercial terms outlined in license agreements.
  • Data Integrity: Capture and organize complex contractual terms into structured Excel frameworks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • System Migration: Execute and verify the migration of data from offline Excel models to our proprietary online client reporting and billing systems.
  • Process Optimization: Assist the team in identifying opportunities to enhance workflow automation and streamline data integration.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Student Status: You must be in full-time education with at least 6 months remaining in your studies following the completion of this internship.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data manipulation).

  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and verification.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex business and technology concepts quickly.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to report findings and collaborate with the wider team.
