Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and automate deployment of a distributed system for collecting and processing log events from multiple sources
- Design data schemas and operate internal data warehouses and SQL/NoSQL database systems
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines
- Drive architectural plans and implementation for future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and other internal partners to identify opportunities and problems
- Provide assistance to the team by troubleshooting, researching root causes, and thoroughly resolving defects
A day in the life
Data Engineers at Amazon build and maintain the infrastructure to answer questions with data, applying software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, and distributed systems concepts (e.g., MapReduce, MPP architectures, NoSQL). We seek Data Engineer interns to join various lines of business.

Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, including class projects, personal projects, research, prior internships, or volunteer work
