The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic global team. The successful candidate will join Javelin’s Trade Finance team, reporting to the VP, Trade Finance in the Singapore office, and will support the day-to-day trade finance activities of the business.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to 2 years’ experience who is looking to develop a career in Trade Finance and gain exposure to international commodities markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of import/export letters of credit and related documentation
- Support the review of trade documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Liaise with Trading and Logistics teams to help resolve queries and discrepancies
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across internal teams
- Communicate with banks and external partners regarding transactions and documentation
- Support the monitoring and updating of daily reports within internal systems
- Assist in tracking transactions and ensuring deadlines are met
Skills and Experience Required
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years’ experience in trade finance, banking, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with documentation
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in developing a career in Trade Finance
- Basic understanding of international trade concepts (e.g. shipping terms, trade flows) is desirable
- Awareness of UCP600/ISBP 745 is advantageous but not essential
- Willingness to work towards a CDCS qualification
- Fluent in written and spoken English
