The Incident and Client Advisory (ICA) team is part of the Assets and Wealth Management Operations Team supporting all aspects of client onboarding, including the fulfilment of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements for the Wealth Management division of J.P. Morgan Asset and Wealth Management.

## Role Summary

As an Analyst within the AML/Reputation Risk Escalation team, you will ensure all prospects are onboarded in accordance with the Asset and Wealth Management business segment strategy and that financial crime and reputational risks of prospects and existing clients are assessed appropriately. You will make independent recommendations regarding AML risk and escalations as the first line of defense. You will also facilitate the review and approval of the Bank’s non-core client onboarding/review. You are expected to stay current with all regulatory requirements around client KYC.

## Responsibilities

  
- Provide guidance to Bankers on reputational and financial crime risk concerns and collaborate with Bankers to prepare submissions to the Reputational Risk Committee and AML Forum/Committee.
  
- Partner with Bankers to prepare submissions to the Client Review Forum, addressing risk tolerance and client fit, in accordance with the business segment’s strategy.
  
- Work with Global Financial Crime Compliance and Risk functions on client issues that pose financial crime and reputational risk to the bank.
  
- Review overnight screening alerts and determine the appropriate disposition.
  
- Coordinate with ICA global counterparts to align issues, findings, and practices.
  
- Ensure outputs meet procedures and internal quality standards; escalate issues/red flags per escalation protocols.
  
- Drive effective issue resolution within policy boundaries, ensuring cases are completed in line with defined service level agreements.
  
- Ensure appropriate and confidential handling/sharing of sensitive client data.
  
- Ensure documented processes/quality controls are observed with the highest standards of accuracy.
  
- Conduct periodic training and awareness sessions for new hires and ongoing staff refreshers.
  
- Coordinate with compliance and control functions related to regulatory audits/requests/initiatives.

## Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  
- Bachelor’s degree
  
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in KYC/AML
  
- Broad knowledge of rules and regulations for various Asia jurisdictions, with focus on KYC/AML
  
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  
- Solid risk and control awareness
  
- Ability to identify issues holistically while being detail-oriented and independent in thinking
  
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment; comfortable with multitasking, escalations, and resolutions
  
- Proactive with initiative to assist the team

## Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  
- Strong knowledge of Wealth Management/Private Banking
  
- Experience handling AML escalations
  
- Excellent team player with openness to share information, knowledge, and expertise
  
- Proficiency in Mandarin for interpreting local documents and communicating with Bankers whose clients are based in China
  
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for various Asia jurisdictions, particularly Hong Kong and Singapore
