Overview

Amazon is seeking customer-focused individuals eager to develop a collaborative leadership style with a team of hourly employees across our Operations network. Our warehouses are fast-paced supply chain environments where standing, walking, and on-the-floor conversations are common. As an Area Manager Intern, you will learn to coach, motivate, and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse setting. Amazon provides extensive training and development to become an exceptional people leader. Your main focus will be learning to manage a team and developing a summer project in partnership with site leadership.

Program Details

This is not a corporate, remote, or office-based position. It is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2026 located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings.

  • Term: 10 weeks

Postgraduate diplomas, certificates, or Master’s degrees are not considered in our graduation range for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn to coach, manage, and develop a team of 50–100 Amazon Associates
  • Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project
  • Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment
  • Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
  • Regularly work shift patterns that may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs; most sites follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off
  • Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities), and step in as needed
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Climb and descend stairs where applicable

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with anticipated completion between December 2026 and August 2027

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or related fields

Compensation & Benefits

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Amazon is a total compensation company; additional earnings may include shift differentials, overtime pay, and performance bonuses where applicable. Final pay rate will be based on factors including shift selection, location, and experience. In addition, Amazon offers basic life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
