Client Business Placement

Overview

Our business placement programme aims to support the development of high-potential individuals through an engaging learning experience at a global investment management firm. We provide students with exposure to our Client Reporting team. This is a competitively paid, 12-month placement in our client team, based in our London office. The graduate or industrial placement offers the opportunity to learn about various parts of the Orbis business. You will contribute directly to the end-to-end creation of client content as well as supporting the servicing of institutional clients. Specific dates will be tailored around your availability.

Responsibilities

Orbis’ internships are uniquely designed around your skills and interests to encourage personal development and growth. You will work alongside global teams and experts across the firm while receiving one-on-one mentorship to support your learning.

Specific responsibilities will vary depending on which team you work with; however, as an intern you can expect to gain valuable exposure to client and operations teams.

• Learn about the different investment strategies and products available within the industry.
• Work alongside global teams to complete projects and assist with standard tasks.

About You

We are not looking for a specific background or a particular set of skills to fill a position—we are looking for self-starters who are prepared to push themselves to learn and grow. We want to see intellectual curiosity and an interest in the industry. Other attributes of people who excel in this internship include:

• Penultimate or final year students from any degree background who are on track for a 2:1 or above.
• The ability to think analytically, challenge norms, and provide innovative solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
