Role details

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities.

In HBM HIG (High Bandwidth Memory, Heterogeneous Integration Group), we innovate and integrate end-to-end front-end and backend processes with design, debugging various tests, and qualification techniques to develop the lowest power per bit solutions to improve customer experience in the field of ML (Machine Learning) and AI (Artificial Intelligence). The success of a sophisticated product such as HBM relies on vertical integration and the collaboration of multiple engineering teams. Our HBM technology involves stacking multiple DRAM chips with a logic chip within one package through Through-Silicon Via (TSV) technology. This increases memory density and enables very high-speed signal transmission. High bandwidth is an outstanding memory design area where gate-level design and RTL-style logic design are blended. Verification and testing (validation) of HBM is highly complex and requires many innovations for successful deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key interface between Design, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality, both internal and with external customers. Collaborate with PE teams as needed.
  • Perform Validation: Conduct validation work on test modes and designs using simulation, data analysis, and ATE/bench analysis.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Understand and resolve manufacturing, test, and quality issues through hardware and software debugging, circuit simulations, and data analysis.
  • Promote Innovation: Proactively seek improvements to procedures or products to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Data Analysis for Validation: Use in-house statistical tools for engineering data analysis to assess validation and risk, and provide insights into performance and reliability.
  • Understand JEDEC Specifications: Develop internal architecture documentation for HBM and apply schematic and layout knowledge to the design.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of VLSI, semiconductor processes, and basic device physics.
  • Exposure to schematic, simulation, data analysis, lab debugging, or pattern manipulation.
  • Experience with Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based projects and contribute to shared goals and outcomes.
