Oil Market Analyst - Research

Overview

The Research division of Flux seeks an entry-level Oil Analyst to join their desk. The team provides market expertise on the financial oil market. This role is London-based, on-site 5 days per week, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and interpret information and data across financial oil and refined products markets
• Present findings in reports, infographics, and on-screen presentations
• Support the analytics team in developing scientific approaches to interpreting financial flows and supply & demand tools
• Actively participate in projects to improve processes and procedures for developing reports
• Build relationships with potential clients across the industry

Requirements

• Excellent MS skills, including fluency with Excel formulas and functions
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities with a passion for data analysis, commodities, and financial markets
• Outstanding English written skills
• Comfort with being on camera and participating in regular research update podcasts
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ambitious individual with a track record of exceeding targets
• Confidence in building relationships over the phone
• Prior experience or interest in the financial oil and gas sector and knowledge of oil derivatives is advantageous
• Knowledge of coding (e.g., Python, Power BI, and other relevant data analytics software) is desirable but not essential
