## Job Description

The Teller I works in a TD Store location and plays a key role in delivering legendary customer experiences while processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency while also educating customers on TD's products and services or referring them to a partner for specialized solutions.

## Responsibilities

  
- Execute TD's Brand promise to customers by consistently delivering a Legendary Customer experience in the Store.
  
- Perform customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan and safe deposit box payments with high efficiency.
  
- Process cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits with a high level of accuracy.
  
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures, escalating to management as necessary.
  
- Engage in lobby leadership by guiding customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and directing them appropriately.
  
- Understand customer banking preferences and educate customers on self-service/digital options that meet their needs.
  
- Advocate for the customer by conducting needs-based conversations; offer financial and digital solutions, and/or refer to an appropriate partner to provide solutions.
  
- Make sound decisions and provide timely problem resolution, escalating more difficult issues to management.
  
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act) to minimize risk and protect the customer.
  
- Verify customers' identities by following authentication policies and procedures.
  
- Balance cash drawers, ATMs, and Teller Cash Dispensers/Recyclers as necessary.
  
- Adhere to safe deposit box procedures/operations and guidelines.
  
- Be responsible and accountable for cash drawers and vaults, maintaining appropriate cash limits and securing cash at all times.
  
- Ensure confidential customer information is securely stored throughout the day.
  
- Understand the importance of and follow dual controls.
  
- Follow all security and audit measures to minimize potential loss.
  
- Utilize bank tools and processes to detect, address, and prevent fraud.
  
- Complete all required in-classroom and online training by established due dates.

## Education & Experience

  
- High school diploma or GED
  
- 6 months of work-related experience preferred; or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience
  
- Ability to work during operating hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled
  
- Demonstrated customer service skills preferred
  
- Strong organizational skills
  
- Detail-oriented
  
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment
  
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent

## Physical Requirements

Physical expectations include a mix of sedentary to standing activities with occasional lifting (under 25 lbs) and repetitive movements. The role may involve traveling occasionally and performing tasks such as reading, writing, and operating standard office equipment. The position requires concentration for long periods and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
