Job Summary

• This role is responsible for designing engineering solutions by applying an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge, and developing and implementing test plans.
• The role acts as a member of the project team to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.
• The role demonstrates technical judgment, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail, and provides analysis of information and limited project direction input.
• The role collaborates with internal and external development partners, participates in project teams, and contributes to the creation of reliable and cost-effective solutions for low to moderately complex products.

Responsibilities

• Design portions of engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles.
• Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs to debug defective hardware/electronic units, sub-assemblies, and process steps.
• Create plans for validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements; publish test results.
• Implement remediations across the hardware stack according to plan, while maintaining thorough procedural records and data logs.
• Capture updates on resolutions to communicate findings internally.
• Exhibit technical judgment, creativity, and initiative with attention to detail throughout work output.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
• Provide support with deviation requests, alternate material authorization, and technical review of supplier quotations.
• Participate as a member of project teams with other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners for product development and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to building reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.
• Develop conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support.
• Work independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving issues by following company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

• Four-year or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, or another related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically 2–4 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field; or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
