Role details
About the Role
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is demanding work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high-performance, high-reward culture—embracing hard work, recovering from setbacks, and persisting to try new approaches. In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you thought possible. Your colleagues will invest in your development as much as in delivering exceptional results for clients. You will receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure each day to accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find elsewhere.
When you join us, you will have:
What you will gain
- Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture is backed by structured programs to help you grow, with clear, actionable feedback that supports your development. You will own your journey in a fast-paced learning environment.
- A voice that matters: From day one, your ideas and contributions are valued. You’ll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, upholding ethics and integrity. Diverse perspectives are encouraged as they lead to the best outcomes.
- Global community: Work with colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 nationalities. Our firm’s diversity fuels creativity and enhances client solutions, with opportunities to learn from colleagues with varied backgrounds.
- World-class benefits: In addition to a competitive salary (based on location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being and that of your family.
What you will do
You will work in teams of typically 3–5 consultants to identify and implement solutions for a specific client problem or challenge. Together, you will help clients make lasting improvements to their performance and achieve their most important goals.
Over the course of each project, you will gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations. You will present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members. In some cases, you may travel to the client site.
As a Consulting Analyst, you will receive training and coaching to grow in the following areas:
- Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them
- Synthesize clear takeaways from complex information using qualitative and quantitative methods
- Work effectively with diverse teams to arrive at the best solution and drive action
- Establish trust-based relationships with clients to better serve their organizations
- Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner
- Develop your leadership style by leveraging your passions, strengths, and personal values
McKinsey believes in strengths-based development and coaching. You will receive mentoring from colleagues, including a senior colleague from your office or practice, and a professional development manager who helps staff projects aligned with your priorities and client needs.
Following the Consulting Analyst tenure (typically 18–24 months), assuming good performance, you will transition to a Business Analyst role. You will join one of our offices across Southeast Asia to work in teams and directly with clients. In this role, you will help clients in the private, public, and social sectors solve some of their most pressing problems and collaborate with a range of experts, from data scientists to researchers to software and app designers.
